FIRST ANNUAL
Ride the Divide  Ride & Tie
Quemado Lake, NM May 29, 2011

BASE CAMP: Base Camp is located in a large open meadow at approximately 8000 feet elevation on private land near Quemado Lake in western NM. Porta-potties avalialbe and horse water will be available throughout camp, bring your own potable water. A ride entry includes the evening meal the day of the ride. Coffee and pastries will be available for free each morning. Base Camp is about 14 miles from Quemado, New Mexico, where there are limited stores, a cafe and motel and two gas stations. Weather is unpredictable this time of year: May be warm or cool, wet or dry, with possiblity of afternoon clouds and thunder showers.

TRAILS: This 35 mile race uses a few miles of dirt roads, with most of the race over forest, woodland and meadow trails; some trails may be rocky and steep, some areas wet and boggy. Horse and runner water is available on the trails about every 5-10 miles and at all vet checks. Note: This R&T shares trail with the 3rd day of a 35 mile and a 50 mile endurance race.

RAT START TIME: 8:30 a.m.

ENTRY: Entry Fee: $100 Discounts: Less $10 per day for Early Entries with checks post-marked by May 13, 2011 All Ride & Tie Competitors MUST be members of the Ride & Tie Association. One year Ride & Tie membership is $25 individual, $40 family. Make these checks payable to Ride and Tie Association. Make entry fee checks payable to Springdale LLC. Send them along with the entry blank to Kathy Sansom.

DIRECTIONS: 14 miles south of US 60 and the village of Quemado off of NM 32. Turn-off for Quemado Lake (NM 103). Continue approximately 5.7 miles to El Caso Ranch private campground.
